Description: Performance Manager / Financial Controller
Location: Avonmouth
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified Financial Controller to join an International Business as a Performance Manager leading the effective and efficient management of the financial, planning and performance framework within the company whilst assisting the leadership team to deliver its Financial targets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the Strategy process consulting with and co-ordinating inputs from all business areas. Ensure consistency with BU strategy and financial framework and recommend strategic interventions where required.
Deliver the annual plan process, ensuring clear linkage with the Strategy, and ensuring equality of stretch and challenge.
Deliver BP Gas in-year financial performance management processes, including periodic financial performance reviews with LT and business functions. Analyse performance and forecast data to identify trends, and gain insights into areas of improvement and inform recommendations/decisions on tactical and strategic interventions.
Deliver the in-year forecasting (GFO) process, both top-down and bottom up, based on in-depth assessment of actual performance and risks and levers vs. plan/previous forecast.
Identify planning and performance management process improvements including specification of MI requirements,
Deliver the MI requirements for the business
Provide coaching, guidance and support to the Performance team
Skills:
To provide commercial support in evaluation of business projects
Lead and facilitate the pricing network, interfacing between Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Logistics departments, including overall responsibility for pricing strategy, price setting, pricing offers and capability building by including the use of pricing tools
Provide a central focus for developing & implementing robust assurance and risk mitigation processes.
Be the overall owner of control framework for the business financials
Overall Accountable for government and regulatory relationships where they specifically impact this company
Ensure all company Finance activities are in line with best practice in the rest of the UK
Develop and own the relationship with the Business Service Centre abroad
Responsibility for the Quality Management System and ISO9001 accreditation as it impacts the Finance Team
Recognised professional accounting qualification, or MBA or other business relevant qualification with previous control, planning or performance management experience is essential
Previous leadership and development of a functional team.
A proven track record of producing quality analysis to tight deadlines, with ability to use data to challenge the status quo.
Good knowledge of data warehouse tools and techniques to develop leading MI reports and analysis
Bias for action.
This role has two staff reporting to them; a financial analyst and a performance analyst, and requires some travel

Responsibilities:
Month end management reporting
Annual budget process
Production of statutory accounts and tax returns for two LLPs and one limited company, including liaison with auditors as necessary
In-year reporting of performance against budget and key targets
Financial systems operation, including ongoing development work in line with business requirements
Enforcement and monitoring of financial controls
Treasury functions, including control of bank accounts, day to day management of cash flow and working capital and long term cash flow planning
Production of regulatory returns - VAT return, reports for the FSA etc Purchase ledger, responsibility for prompt payment of invoices
Coaching and developing team members
Capital appraisals, acquisitions and long term scenario planning
Skills:
Strong technical ability, with up to date knowledge of financial accounting and taxation
Experience of producing both financial accounts and tax returns desirable
Proven track record of delivering against objectives to the required standard and timetable
Proven ability to manage, motivate and develop staff and advantage
Well developed communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to work collaboratively with managers to set targets and monitor performance

My Client is a leading international Charity which provides Aid to some of the worlds most deprived areas. They are actively seeking a Financial Controller to complete a fixed term 18 month contract and deal with the following:
Responsibilities:
Manage the production of effective management reports to colleagues and Directors
Support and also challenge the financial management performance of colleagues
Manage all aspects of the Charity's reserves
Produce management accounts for Directors
Produce summaries which show key performance, emerging trends including commentary
Attend the Finance and Audit Committee when appropriate
Produce (non) statutory accounts
Managing the whole audit process
Communicate processes and procedures and support colleagues to ensure compliance
Control the structure of the Charity's database (ledgers and cost centres) to ensure the best delivery of data to the multiple users
Monitor and evaluate efficiency in operations, including identifying and publish key measures of performance
Identify areas for automation and efficiency savings and implementing change effectively
Develop understanding of best practice and continue to seek improvements
Optimise all cash management processes to maximise return
Develop historic actual v plan cash flow reports from table H
Develop cash flow forecasts for the worldwide group
Prepare historic cash management reports, investment performance reviews and cash flow forecasts for the Investment Committee
Develop cash flow forecasting on a monthly basis to justify cash holdings
Develop a fair and transparent mechanism for cash disbursement
Ensure cash balances are invested in accordance with policy
Manage relationships with external cash and investment managers
Monitor exchange rates and ensure best value from existing or new contacts
Produce exchange rate data
Skills:
ACCA / CIMA Part / Qualified Accountant (or Equivalent)
Previous experience in a Charity Environment preferred

Our Client is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their thriving Bristol head office and provide a pivotal role in the Management and co-ordination of the Finance department.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of monthly Management Accounts and annual Statutory Accounts
Produce annual Accounts that comply with UK GAAP
Management of the Finance department and direct management of the team managers responsible for the various sections (Accounts Payable, Credit Control etc)
Responsible for the firm's compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules and management of the processes and regulations required by such compliance as well as being responsible for the preparation of the annual budgets and the roll-out of those budgets into the Elite system
Skills:
Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or equivalent
Significant post qualification experience
Proven experience and track record in a Financial Controller role
Experience of UK GAAP and production of year-end accounts, as well as dealing with external Auditors
