Description: Public Sector Consultant /Performance Audit Manager
Location: Bristol
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
To work as part of the audit team, delivering value for money, use of resources and performance audits for a range of public sector bodies. Specifically to develop project scopes, prioritise activities; deliver work to a high standard maintaining appropriate evidence to support assessment and judgements made. You will also produce high quality client communications, written reports and presentations.
Responsibilities:
Understands budget allocated for the job and ensures that time is allocated appropriately
Adheres to the firms risk management policies and procedures
Monitors WIP for clients on regular, e.g. monthly basis, and manages WIP to keep at a minimum level and minimising write-offs
Builds and maintains good working relationships with colleagues and manages relationships with key clients
Works effectively with all members of the team, building the confidence and respect of peers and subordinates
Appraises and mentors executives giving regular feedback, timely appraisals and provides development opportunities whilst being familiar with relevant training and development options
Demonstrates a clear appetite for self development through the appraisal and PDP processes.
Reviews work afterwards for learning points. Attends training courses as identified in order to develop both technical and personal skills
Attends client meetings, prepare project initiation documents and audit scopes. Take the lead role in coordinating and delivering performance audit and use of resources work streams
Coordinates the assembly of baseline data, its review and establishing the key issues emerging from those engagements
Assess the client's development of strategies to address their needs and undertake such testing as required to ensure that the arrangements are sustainable, deliverable and likely to achieve planned actions
Provides additional support to clients from time to time in delivering projects, which may include project planning and management
Takes an active role in the management of individual and firm networks to advance our position in the market place
Contributes to the development of methodology and market knowledge through involvement in technical and/or sector-based groups
Actively involved in office marketing and is an ambassador of the firm
Aware of the wide range of services the firm offers and suggests innovative products whilst pro actively identifying cross selling opportunities
Skills:
Previous experience in a performance audit role
Thorough knowledge of audit process and environment with particular knowledge of the public sector
Accomplished at report writing and should be capable of developing and writing project scopes, delivering high quality work, reports, baseline reviews and presentations
Existing network of relationships to build on and develop further
