Description: Actuarial Analyst - Insurance (Property)
Location: London
Salary Indicator: £40,000
This is a brilliant opportunity to join a leading company and assist with a growing demand for actuarial work across the company. Increasing levels of quantitative analysis are introduced to the underwriting process. It is an objective of the actuarial team to bring the highest possible level of quantitative support to any business decisions. A critical feature of the team is its close involvement with underwriters and other business representatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The role is to support the Client Team Leader in the Property Team within the Central Actuarial Department.
Reserving and Quarterly Reporting:
Assist in the quarterly reserving process both in the analysis undertaken and the communication of the results
Portfolio Analysis and Performance Monitoring:
Development and dissemination of performance statistics and analysis of trends. Identification and investigation of emerging issues
Rate monitoring
Segmentation and segment profitability
Loss trend analysis
Quantitative Support:
Planning - support business areas in the development of future budgets, coordination and assembly of plans across the company
Capital Modelling:
Assist in reviewing the capital requirements for the Property area
Pricing:
Class ratemaking - overall portfolio rate indications as well as segment relativities
Skills:
Pervious Experience in the General Insurance sector, Property experience would be beneficial

Description: Actuary - Client Team Leader - International Casualty

Increasing levels of quantitative analysis are introduced to the underwriting process. It is an objective of the actuarial team to bring the highest possible level of quantitative support to any business decisions. A critical feature of the team is its close involvement with underwriters and other business representatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Client Team Leader is expected to lead the central actuarial involvement in the Division.
It will have line management responsibility for up to 3 staff. The incumbent would be expected to identify areas where actuarial involvement can add to the performance of a business area and to prioritise, design and lead the work.
Reserving:
Lead and be responsible for the quarterly reserving process including analysis, report writing and communication. There is a strong emphasis on engaging portfolio managers, underwriters and claims staff throughout this process.
Portfolio Analysis and Performance Monitoring:
Development and dissemination of performance statistics and analysis of trends. Identification and investigation of emerging issues.
Rate monitoring
Segmentation
Loss trend analysis
Pricing:
Supporting the Division (underwriters and embedded actuaries) in:
Large account pricing
Class ratemaking
Quantitative Support:
Identify and assist in other areas of Divisional activities where quantitative engagement would be of value. For example:
Planning
Outwards Reinsurance treaty analysis.
Skills:
Pervious Experience in the General Insurance sector Casualty experience would be beneficial
Experience in managing a team preferable
Actuarial qualification or equivalent
