Description: Internal Auditor
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Location: Somerset
My Client, an independent insurance specialist, is currently looking to appoint an Internal Auditor to work in their compliance department. Working as part of a team and independently the main purpose of this role will be to carry out audits at all of the offices in The South West.
Responsibilities:
Planning and performing audits, special projects, and consulting engagements to ensure they are conducted in accordance with department and professional standards and are completed on a timely basis
Preparing written audit reports, and periodically presenting relevant information to the Audit Committee
Presenting findings and recommendations to management at every level within the group
Highlighting any identifying training or behavioural needs to the relevant Team Leader and Training Department
Evaluating business risks and developing solutions to minimize the risks identified
Reviewing and appraising controls within key business process areas working with management to develop action plans to address identified improvement opportunities
Ensuring that the business complies with internal and external rules and has a high level of internal control
Making recommendations on the systems and procedures being reviewed, report on the findings and recommendations and monitor management's response and implementation
Skills:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working in an Internal Audit role gained from within a General Insurance Broker or a Financial Services background
Candidates must have the ability to work autonomously to a high standard
