We are seeking a senior assistant solicitor with a background in handling material damage and coverage claims on behalf of insurers. You will have experience in and an aptitude for supervising others.

You will manage a team of file handlers and lawyers handling subrogated claims on a delegated scheme relating to material damage and business interruption claims (which often raise policy coverage issues) on behalf of insurers. Based within a team of specialist solicitors, the caseload will cover professional negligence issues for a wide range of Professions clients including Architects, Accountants, Surveyors, Doctors, Insurance Brokers (including Lloyds) and other Professions

Duties and Responsibilities:

To provide high quality advice to clients across the professions with regards to professional negligence work
Draft correspondence, Agreements and responses as required
Act as a point of reference to other staff and departments on negligence issues
Liaise with partners / associates on technical cases
Assist senior partners within the department with high level and technical cases
Undertake Secondments as required in other locations

Responsibilities:

You'll be handling a varied workload in accordance with client protocols with an appropriate level
You'll be expected to take a commercial approach to the disputes looking to resolve them early on via mediation or other ADR techniques.
Focus on commercial disputes for a range of clients including financial institutions. This will involve working in small teams on larger matters and taking day to day responsibility for smaller matters There may also be some professional indemnity work, particularly for IFAs and accountants
