Our client is seeking a Legal Costs Negotiator to join their Insurance Department's Costs Team, working on behalf of major insurers, dealing with pre-litigation and post litigation claims for costs.
Experience of costs claims is essential. The successful applicant will have solid experience gained from working either within an in-house environment or in the costs team of a Legal firm, with a particular expertise in relation to personal injury matters.
It is also considered important that candidates have the willingness and ability to provide advice and assistance to the department's Insurer clients on issues outlined by statue, case law and protocols. The candidate must be able to demonstrate relevant experience, good technical and drafting skills, a sound knowledge of the CPR and all relevant case law.
In a busy and demanding environment you will be expected to work in a clear and concise manner, exhibiting excellent negotiation skills and the ability to draft correspondence, legal argument, Points of Dispute and instructions to Counsel. You may also attend/assist with Detailed Assessment Hearings.
