Duties and Responsibilities:
Agreeing a commercial business plan for the whole firm to enhance and develop the VAT consultancy, identifying potential advisory and consultancy opportunities
Providing Specialist VAT Consultancy and Advice to a wide range of clients, across the company
Acting as internal expert point of reference taking responsibility for compliance across the whole company
Establishing and maintaining the company's internal intranet so that it contains the relevant standards and precedents for VAT compliance, including standard letters and reports
Developing detailed product notes for internal use on specific topics
Keeping the VAT section of the company's website up-to-date and interesting, liaising with marketing to ensure that information is formatted in such a way as to encourage clients to contact the firm for more information
Identifying and providing pro-active VAT marketing and PR material for use by the firm including provision of copy and creating and issuing (via marketing) newsletters etc to create a high profile for the VAT advisory business
Skills:
A good depth of knowledge of property related VAT is essential
Confident in a Business Development role, making presentations, and networking
Excellent and concise, written and oral communication skills
An aptitude for understanding and interpreting technical material, and converting it into suitable terminology for all potential audiences
Organised with attention to detail
Proficient IT skills desirable - including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook
Ideally Tax related qualifications but not essential

The successful candidate will have had experience in wills, tax planning, probate, trust creation and trust administration work
The candidate should have dealt independently with matters from commencement to conclusion
Applicants will also be required to take responsibility for administration activities associated with running a full time caseload and be committed to building and maintaining their position in a vibrant and dynamic team
Skills:
Need to be highly numerate, organised and capable of working on their own initiative They should also have experience of achieving and maintaining chargeable hours and fee income targets
The successful candidate should either be admitted as a solicitor, have a law degree and LPC or alternatively have completed some or all the ILEX modules looking to gain a Legal Executive Qualification
